Energising Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa links postures into flowing sequences, moving with each breath. It builds warmth, strength and focus, and leaves you feeling energised and clear-headed.

What is vinyasa?

Movement and breath together

"Vinyasa" roughly means "to place in a special way". Each movement is matched to an inhale or an exhale, so the class feels like one continuous flow. No two classes are quite the same, which keeps it interesting week to week.

In a class

What to expect

  • Breath and warm up: wake up the body and find your breath.
  • Sun salutations: a repeated flow that builds heat.
  • Main flow: standing sequences, balances and core work.
  • Cool down: slower stretches, twists and hip openers.
  • Relaxation: a well-earned rest at the end.

Questions

Common questions

Can beginners come?
Yes. I always show simpler options, and you can rest at any point. If you're brand new, a few hatha classes first can help.

Will I get sweaty?
A little. Bring water and wear something breathable.

Is it the same as power yoga?
Power yoga is a more intense form of vinyasa. My classes are energising but kind, with time to breathe.
